With so many amazing brands and designers at Paris Fashion Week's SS16 shows, there was plenty of inspiration to choose from, whether your style is cool and minimal or all about those clashing prints. From workwear to accessories, there was plenty to inspire your style, even if the designers are a bit out of your price bracket!
For us, though, there was one show that really stood out - the Chanel 'Airport of Dreams' offering. LVBT is all about travelling the world to source sustainable jewellery, so the show really struck a chord with us. The originality and creativity of setting a show in an airport absolutely blew us away, making it our favourite show of the whole week.
The glamourous show took place in the airy surroundings of the Grand Palais in Paris during PFW, and the runway featured a baggage check in, numbered gates and departures and arrivals boards, which displayed the latest destinations in which Chanel has set up shop - Salzburg, Shanghai, Dallas and Seoul.
Fashion was, of course, the main event, and front row regulars Anna Dello Russo, Anna Wintour and Alexa Chung watched outfits inspired by travel coming down the runway; from a unique dress patterned like an arrivals board, to a sweater and pants set in an airplane intarsia pattern we had a lot of love for.
One of Chanel's most iconic signatures is the use of tweed, but in this show the classic material was given a futuristic twist in keeping with the theme of the show, updating it for a younger audience. Vibrant colours and fun designs characterised the show, paired with the classic looks for which Chanel is revered. Here at LVBT, we just couldn't get enough of it!
Women of the moment Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner both appeared on the catwalk alongside Chanel's longtime creative director, Karl Lagerfeld - the icing on the cake of an iconic Chanel show, we thought.
All in all the fun theme and youthful designs felt like the perfect showcase for Karl's prodigious talents - we can't wait to get involved in airport chic next spring and summer!
